CARD takes Corporate Support to meet its objectives of community support programme as well as supports Corporates in planning and meeting their CSR initiatives. CARD has been associated with some brand names since a decade;
John Deere has identified CARD as CSR partner for program implementation in the peripheral villages of Dewas (M.P) Tractor manufacturing plant in 2014. The activities are yet to start.
CARD has been identified by JK Tyre to implement its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in the villages located around its Banmore plant in Morena District (M.P). To start with a need assessment study was performed by the CARD team during May 2015 and based on the same a three years' action plan was developed and finalized with JK Tyre for implementation of Livelihood Enhancement and Water Conservation Project in the 6 villages of Morena District. The duration of this project is May 2015- May 2018.During July 2016 a tripartite agreement has been developed among NABARD, JK Tyre and CARD to implement NABARD supported programme on Watershed Development in the project villages under Public Private Partnership programme. The duration of this programme is 2016-2020. Presently CARD team is involved in the process of initiating this programme in the villages.
Under the agri based livelihood development programme cconducted 40 FFSs covering 1135 demonstrations for 750 farmers in 20 villages, and covered over 3000 demonstrations SRI in paddy and also constructed two farm ponds and one stop dams. The second phase started from June, 2013 based on the results of our demonstrations through the FFS on SRI technology in paddy, which have been astonishing, and the process has now been adopted very well by nearly all the tribal farmers in Ghughari, one of the most backward areas of Mandla district.
Public Private Community Partnership Demonstration Model of Watershed Rehabilitation project is being implemented in the nine project villages located around Mahuria site of Suzlon wind farms since April 2011. This project aims on promotion of high tech watershed technologies as a model of watershed rehabilitation. It is envisaged that after the implementation of the watershed project area become more productive, prosperous and will pave the way for livelihood enhancement of the people living in the vicinity of the wind farm. One of the aims of the programme is to encourage the village community, Gram Panchayat and other Community Based Organisations to develop local institutional mechanisms towards sustained community action for the operation and maintenance of assets created and their sustainable use.
The Hindustan Unilever Foundation in partnership with Solidaridad Network has identified CARD as implementation partner of its programme aiming on promotion of crop specific water conservation practices in 5 districts of Malwa and Nimar regions during 2014.
Soybean is the most popular oilseed crop in the whole Malwa region and occupies more than 90 percent area of the Kharif season crops. The CARD- Solidaridad Network association has selected village clusters in 74 villages in eleven blocks of 5 districts covering 9000 farming households. The purpose is mainly to disseminate and demonstrate the improved Farming System practices and responsible farming practices among the farmers of the region to increase their production of Soybean crop and also facilitate the process of establishing market linkages through adoption of appropriate marketing strategies. The main activities include; Sowing on broad bed-and-furrow (BBF) system in soybean, Integrated nutrient management, INM with additions of crop residues and other such options, Integrated Pest Management, Micro Nutrition application in soybean (S, Zn, Mg and Bo )and Safety measures during plant protection practices in soybean. training and demonstration of production support activities, farmers’ institution development and certification process support for Soy crop.
CARD has been associated with Gas Authority of India Limited, Khera Compressor Station District Ujjain as CSR partner since 2005. Till date different interventions have been planned and executed which include 8 field implementation projects aiming on drinking water facility, Wise water management in hostels, Women entrepreneurship development, Establishment of solar kitchen system in Bal shanrakshak grah, installation of router and server in Mahakal temple Ujjain etc.
Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Identified CARD to execute its Bio Fuel initiative in Jhabua District of M.P. For the purpose Jatropha plantation and its upkeep related activities was performed on 231 Hectares of waste land at two locations in Jhabua District.
Toyota Grant for Environment programme (Japan) has supported the activity of domestication, cultivation and processing of medicinal plants in Mandla district. A large nodal nursery was established at the CARD Agriculture farms and 10 satellite nurseries were established at different locations. Planting material was supplied from Nodal nursery to satellite nurseries to self-help groups during 2004-07. The central nursery is still running and annually around 1 lakh different saplings including fruit plants are planted in the villages around for ecological restoration and orchard development.
CARD also supports Corporates in identifying needs and aspirations of the community residing in the periphery of industrial units so that need based programmes can be identified and prepared. It also conducts baseline surveys and impact assessment of Corporates initiatives. We have conducted Need Assessment Studies for CSR works for the following agencies:
- United Ways of Mumbai hired services of CARD to perform Need Assessment Study for its client i.e John Deere for identifying need based CSR initiatives in MP, Gujarat, Punjab during 2013.
- During 2010 The Aditya Birla Group had assigned CARD the task of Social Satisfaction Survey for its five Cement producing units located at different locations of India.
- Mapping of Child care Institutions in MP for CSA during 2013.
- Bharat Oman Refineries Limited (BORL) for Need Assessment Survey in villages around Bina Refinery.
